People from many Western countries have widely travel access compared to people from many other (war torn) countries. The example of Italy was chosen for this comparison as a shipwreck occurred along the Italian coast, causing 59 migrants to drown. Meloni and other politicians point fingers at smugglers enabling migrants to take on dangerous routes, even though paper borders are causing migrants to not be able to take a safe route in the first place.
